The Awakened Woman

The awakened woman doesn’t
let any man’s wounded sexuality
stand in her way of being brilliant.

She does not hide her beauty,
Does not dull down her vibrant energy,
She shines her light.

And if that means attention,
from men, women, and those she’s meant to serve,
Then great.

She doesn’t stand down when she’s not treated right.
She lets him know what she’s feeling
She holds the masculine accountable
to the action that he’s taken,
without blaming him.

She calls him to respond,
and hold a higher standard
for himself and other men
as we move forward together.

Is your Healer or Teacher Right For You?

Something interesting came into my awareness over the last few weeks, thus, I felt compelled to share with you.

When people are choosing someone to work with, as a healer, or a teacher, they need to feel connected to that person.

It is very important that something within you is saying “yes, it’s her/him”. If you are feeling pushed to a healer or teacher by friends or family, make sure you pay attention to whether or not they feel right for you. Not every person is meant to connect with someone just because your own friends or family ascertain this is the best person for you.

We need you to trust your instincts. If you feel a connection, a draw, or intrigue about a healer or teacher, that’s a great thing! And chances are, you and your friends and family may all be very content with the same healer. What you need to know is that the person who will teach and help with your healing, often has something in common with you, and where you are on your journey. They have already had an experience or a life lesson that you may be struggling through at this point, and thus, your angels would send you to connect with that person.

As a healer and a teacher, myself, I marvel at how the universe works! Many times I’ll be in the midst of a healing, and the connection between myself and my client becomes obvious. As someone who has gone through divorce, or health issues, or challenges around parenting a child with an illness, the Angels already know what I’ve experienced and what I’ve learned. It is my job to share the wisdom and guidance that came from my experience as well as what comes from your own Angels and Guides. It is a truly beautiful feeling to help calm my client and reassure them, as I know they will get through whatever challenges they face.

Now, just because I have experience in life, as we all do, this hardly makes me an expert. What it does do, is shows you one possible solution to your challenges.

Every one of us, myself included, has connected with a healer or a teacher, and felt a little off – like something didn’t jive, or that the experience left us feeling like something was missing. This is likely because that person didn’t vibrate the way we do…thus not a match.

Something else to be wary of, is paying attention to how the healer or teacher speaks of others. Make sure the person you are working with is authentic, passionate, and truly believes in what they are doing. Authentic people don’t worry about how many clients they have, or want to limit your personal experience by asking you to stop seeing other healers or teachers. Authentic people also trust that you came to them, because you were intended to work together. A good relationship with a healer or teacher will provide you with the sensation of being uplifted and supported, not burdened or downtrodden.

When someone is operating out of fear, or feelings of competition, this often indicates an area where they could do some healing for themselves. If someone has to raise up themselves by putting others down, this is a self-esteem or ego issue. It is important to pay attention to how that person speaks of others they have worked with, or other teachers and healers. In addition, if you are in a relationship, and your partner or best friend says you cannot see other teachers or healers, I highly recommend reviewing their motivation for that situation.

Another important thing to pay attention to is how do you feel when you are around that teacher or healer? Are you open to explore yourself? Are you willing to be honest and share with them what’s happening in your life, so that you may experience the full benefits of the experience? Or do you feel a need to shut down, or protect yourself. If it’s the latter, you have connected with someone who is not necessarily good for you. Your Team (Angels and Guides) will be happy to chat with someone who is good for you, can assist you in your journey. Your intuition will tell you if the person before you is not that person.

It’s also good to know that we don’t need to run out and take every course when we are on our spiritual journey. Trust the Universe, or your team to let you know if something is a good fit, if it will benefit you, and feel confident that you’ve chosen the right teacher, or the right healer.

Healers and teachers are not completely healed, but they have often gone through some healing experiences that can benefit you. In addition, they are not perfect, we are all still human. We are still working on our own journey, and will always have things to learn.

Spiritual journeys do not have rungs of achievement, no one is further along their journey than someone else, and there is no hierarchy or awards ceremony. It’s important to recognize that when we want to quantify where we are on our journey, which is our Ego stepping in, and wanting to compete with others.

Healthy healers and teachers are those that are in gratitude for their journey, are humble and recognize that without the loving support of their own guidance, the Universe, Source, Spirit or God as you see it, they would not be able to assist others. It is beautiful to receive affirmation that the client has moved further on their journey, but it is not acceptable to take credit for their transformation. The client did the work, the healer or teacher did not. By facilitating a safe place, by encouraging our clients, by loving supporting through messages, or by giving the client another way to sort out things, we are not responsible for the healing the client does. Everyone has free will. It works the same in the reverse. If the client does not make changes in their life or their thinking, they have that choice. It is not the fault of the healer or teacher if the client decides not to make changes as recommended.

One more important thing to note is ethics. It is completely inappropriate for a healer or a teacher to every share specific details about your sessions. You need to be able to trust that the session is completely private, that all things shared are shared in a safe and sacred space. If someone speaks about a client and shares details, I would avoid working with them, the same way you would in the professional world. A Healer or Teacher holds a sacred gift of discretion and privacy when they work with someone. When a healer wants to use an example, it should be generalized, and they should have permission to share even the generalized information.

What makes you feel secure to work with a healer or a teacher? What do you value most? We’d love to hear your thoughts, write to me and let me know what’s important to you!

14 Questions to ask a Reiki Master before choosing a Reiki Training

by William Lee Rand

There are many people teaching Reiki classes now. Some are highly qualified and may be just the right teacher for you and others may not have the right energy for your needs.

So, the question is often asked about how to choose a Reiki teacher that is right for you. Here is a list of questions to ask any Reiki master who you are thinking about taking a class from.

  1. How long have you been working with Reiki?
  2. What training have you had?
  3. How often do you teach?
  4. How do you personally use Reiki? What is your lineage?
  5. Will this training initiate me into, or progress me within the Usui lineage? If not, then which lineage is it a part of?
  6. What qualifications are required to take Reiki Training?
  7. What do you cover in your classes? How many hours of class time is included? How much time is instructional, and how much is hands on practice?
  8. What are the specific things I will be able to do after taking the training?
  9. What are your fees, and will I receive a certificate and a manual?
  10. Can I take notes and tape record the class?
  11. How many symbols will I learn?
  12. Is there a Reiki support group in my area or can you help me establish one?
  13. Will you openly support me in being a successful Reiki practitioner or master?
  14. Do you have a positive respectful attitude toward other Reiki practitioners and masters, regardless of lineage or affiliation?

Tests with scientific instruments indicate that electromagnetic fields exist around the body and around each of the organs of the body. The heart, which has the strongest field, which has been measured at a distance of 15 feet from the body.

Faraday’s law indicates that one electromagnetic field can induce currents into a nearby conductor, through this process it induces a similar field around it. In this way, a healer induces a healthy electromagnetic field around an unhealthy organ, thus inducing a healthy state in the organ.

Belief vs. Science

The integration of research science with complementary medicine is a tremendously exciting endeavor, putting some actual empirical evidence on the table for both scientists and sceptics alike.

What is Reiki, really?

There is a scientific explanation for Reiki that is based on studies and factual information. This explanation has been presented as a reproducable hypothesis by James Oschman, Ph.D.

Dr. Oschman is a scientist with a conventional background who became interested in the practice of energy medicine. Through research, he discovered a number of important scientific studies that point to a scientific basis for energy medicine based on the laws of physics and biology. These findings are discussed in an interview, “Science and the Human Energy Field,” published on https://www.reiki.org/

The electrical currents that run through every part of the human body provide the basis for Dr. Oschman’s hypothesis. These currents are present in the nervous system, organs, and cells of the body. For instance, the electrical signals that trigger the heartbeat travel throughout all the tissues of the body and can be detected anywhere on the body.

Ampere’s law indicates that when an electrical current flows through a conductor, an electromagnetic field is produced that reflects the nature of the current that created it. Tests with scientific instruments indicate that electromagnetic fields exist around the body and around each of the organs of the body, including the brain, heart, kidneys, liver, stomach, etc. The heart has the strongest field, which has been measured at a distance of 15 feet from the body.

The fields around each of the organs pulse at different frequencies and stay within a specific frequency range when they are healthy, but move out of this range when they are unhealthy. The hands of healers produce pulsing electromagnetic fields when they are in the process of healing, whereas the hands of non-healer do not produce these fields. When a healer places his or her hands on or near a person in need of healing, the electromagnetic field of the healer’s hands sweeps through a range of frequencies based on the needs of the part of the body being treated. Faraday’s law indicates that one electromagnetic field can induce currents into a nearby conductor and through this process, induce a similar field around it. In this way, a healer induces a healthy electromagnetic field around an unhealthy organ, thus inducing a healthy state in the organ. Chose Your Own… Pasta Sauce?

Cook your favourite gluten free pasta (or spaghetti squash),

then everyone gets to choose their own pasta sauce when you toss each portion with 1-2 TBS of their favourite Cashew Cheese or Pesto Mystiko.  For tomato sauce lovers, add in a few spoons of Salsa Kraut and Voila!

Got more time? Call your friend and invite them over, while they are enroute, saute whatever veg you have around, mix and enjoy!

2 Minute Guacamole

Peel and mash an avocado, add 2 TBS Salsa Kraut, add salt/cayenne to taste.  Grab a bag of our favourite organic corn chips, and eat it all up!

Saucy Simple Salad

Mix 3 TBS Jingle Sauce/Cashew Cheese with 3+ TBS olive oil, shake and serve over your favorite salad. (or if you’re feeling lazy but still care about your health, pour over spinach and hemp hearts)

Instant Glory Rice

Take cooked plain rice (we won’t judge you if it’s yesterdays takeout leftovers) re-heat in a pan and toss in 1-2 cups of frozen organic veggies.  When the veg is cooked, top with 3+ TBS of Jingle Sauce to take it from “blah leftovers” to “OMG yum!”

The ProBiotic Everything Chip Dip

Mix 1-2 TBS Cashew Cheese/Jingle Sauce, with 2 TBS Cauliflower Kraut, add a fresh grated veg (carrot, cucumber, turnip or other) a cooked/sprouted bean/lentil of your choice, add a little of your favourite kombucha/kefir until it’s a dip consistency. Why We Chose WOO!

The following article is taken from the WOOCommerce Blog, which is the system we use to run this smoothe ship.  🙂 I think the company phillosphy has a lot to do with why things work.

Without further ado, enjoy your wooReads.

“Do you remember the first time you took note of a flock of birds slipstreaming? And someone explained the way they fly aerodynamically and take turns to head up the V-shape and be carried along by the strength of their fellows? Nature is smart. We can learn a lot from it.

CanadianGeeseFlyingInVFormation

No one wants to end up in a job they dislike, but many do. No one wants to be an island either, as a little internal survey we did revealed. At WooThemes, we are determined to make sure everyone in our team is flourishing, growing and enjoying what they give themselves to each day. We recently asked what it was folks enjoyed most about working for Woo.

The Motivation Trifecta, plus one?

Drive proposes three elements that motivate and allow us to do our best work – autonomy, mastery and purpose. The most popular answers that came in from the Woo team fell neatly in step with these, with one key addition:

1. Freedom (autonomy)
2. Learning (mastery)
3. Making a difference (purpose)
4. Teamwork

At WooThemes I get to work with people who live and breathe what I do – so instead of being the guy in the back office who can do machines, I get to be the guy on the team who gets to try out his ideas and learn new things every. single. day. –Danny Santoro

The all important context is ‘team’

We all derive a level of satisfaction from having a sense of freedom, being productive and doing work that matters and it is not rocket science to equate autonomy, mastery, and purpose to overall workplace happiness. But we believe there is something more that leads to a happy working environment and at Woo, the Motivation Trifecta plays out in the all important context of our highly-functioning and carefully chosen team.

Getting to work with a team of like-minded, thoughtful individuals, all working together to achieve the same two goals. –Bryce Adams

I love working at WooThemes because I get to do what I love and I get to do it with awesome people who are all incredibly talented. –Hugh Lashbrooke

40 individuals, 14 countries, 1 team

WooThemes started with three people passionate about WordPress working in different corners of the world. Mark and Magnus met in the flesh for the first time over a year after starting a company together, and the level of trust, flexibility and ability to do great work oceans apart is part of our DNA.

The flexibility allowed while working on a distributed team that is spread out over 14 countries, with some of the most talented people in WordPress, on a team that enables me to make decisions that I believe will help better the company. –Maria Scarpello

The future of business?

The very best people for the job are not frequently found on the doorstep, it begs the question of how many times geographical constraints have capped possibility. With roots in remote working relationships, Woo has been very intentionally set up to be an international company we’re in the fortunate position of being able to recruit irrespective of geography and timezone.

It’s exciting to be working on products that are having a real impact for individuals and businesses around the world – enabling new services and offerings for audiences people previously couldn’t reach. Built and powered by a diverse team of talent proving distributed work can be fun, a fantastic learning experience, a more healthy lifestyle, and possibly the future of business. –Mark Forrester

Some practical tips

Communication and familiarity
Our company would fall apart if we didn’t put a strong emphasis on the importance of communication. We can’t tap someone on the shoulder, wander over to their desk, or shout from across the office when we’re stuck.

To that end, we have the current setup:

  • An internal P2 (we use our own Houston theme). Here we share important news, ask questions, celebrate birthdays and pass on feedback.
  • HipChat –  Anybody can ask anyone else a question, and we have dedicated rooms for each team.
  • iDoneThis – At the end of each day we log what we’ve been up to.
  • Each team has a weekly meeting to catch up and set goals for the next week (Skype and G+ Hangouts are our friends)
  • We’ve recently started a Town Hall meeting with the entire team – this generally happens every 3 months.

When a new team member joins, we organise a company-wide hangout to get to know our new team member a little better.

We also use Know Your Company to ask them to what they’re working at the beginning of each week. We also find out a little more with some of the questions we ask. Last week we found out a few team members had the McGyver Mullet growing up.

Let the feedback flow!
When everyone’s coming into the office, its easy to give feedback on a daily basis and pick up on team morale. Working remotely doesn’t offer you that luxury, and yearly reviews aren’t enough to give feedback. We’ve followed Buffer’s lead when giving feedback and mentorship. We do these has often as each team member would like.

Work / Life balance
For almost anyone on the team, work is just a few feet away. Its almost too easy to power up in the morning and work through the day without getting out, exercising, socializing, or doing anything other than work. The entire team is sent a Fitbit when joining – this alone won’t give you work / life balance. But it’s a great way for each team member to be conscious of their activity, sleep and diet. And so we can laugh at each other’s step-counts.

Document all the things
We’ve made sure that everything that can possibly be documented has been.

WooTrip and meet-ups
We love remote working, but there’s nothing like getting the team together to meet-up, shake hands, share meals and have a drink together. Once a year we do a company-wide meet-up – this year we’ll be in San Francisco. We’ve also started team meet-ups for any Woo people in similar areas. This year, the North American contingent got together in Chicago.

Our conclusion? Remote working teamwork it works!

It seems, people today are looking for freedom and flexibility, but still want to contribute to something meaningful and successful. And that when this is achieved with a spirit of teamwork, the magic happens. How do you (or your team) make remote working awesome? We’d love to hear.”

These are just a few of the reasons we’ve chosen to work with WOOcommerce as our technical backend for the NEOM store.

Want to join the NEOM team?

We are always curious to meet conscious HUB’s, leaders who are making a difference and sharing their passion with the world. If that’s you, and you’d like to reach a larger audience, create effortless online systems to market and sell your events, services, and products.  Book a time to meet us, and talk about how we can help you grow.

5 Self Sabotage Patterns of Conscious Entrepreneurs

The 5 Most Destructive Self Sabotage Patterns of Conscious Entrepreneurs (and how to turn it into Healthy Self Sabotage)

I'm a procrastinator, because sometimes I get scared.  Today it's showing up because I’ve got an email to send. It will take me approximately 5 minutes to write from start to finish. That is, if I just sit down and do it. In actuality it will take me 5 days to get the courage up to write it. In fact, I will write 2 blog posts, 3 future scenes, 20 minutes in my journal every night, and about 15 other emails in between now and when that trigger filled email actually gets written.

The email I need to send will probably end up in him signing up to work with me. I’ve already put it off for 2 weeks, and been asked to reply TWICE by him. Yet, I can’t, won’t, don’t haven’t. I will eventually, write it. Maybe.

I recognize this is what I’m doing today. I’m avoiding doing the important things as much as possible.

My triggered pain body,  my ego, and the part of me that fights the growth my business tooth and nail, the part that wants to fail, is in FULL power and activity right now. On top of that, for some reason I’m also refusing to do the inner work that would make the email sending a simple task again.

There’s a historical story I told about answering all my emails and being a good business woman. Then I end up crying on the floor. It’s funny you know, this self reflective universe we live with. I wrote about it, and it came back for me to heal. It popped into my reality big time. It’s been INCREDIBLY excruciatingly difficult for me to answer simple day to day business emails.

It’s all perfect. I was planning on writing about the Conscious Entrepreneur’s Top 5 Self Sabotage techniques anyways. I’ve been doing “research” I guess!

I’ve been doing an excellent job cultivating the experience. Reveling in the shit of it all.

Major triggers will invariably pop up
whenever I’m on the edge of a breakthrough,
the beginning of a new uplevel,
or I get too lazy in my self care.

I know from experience that if I don’t stop avoiding it, if soon I don’t dive to the depths of this, seeing the truth and illusion, and collecting the power from it, it’s going to get worse. Much worse. *shudders*

So, as a “conscious” entrepreneur who doesn’t watch TV, has committed to no longer emotional eat, and hates feeling guilty about not sitting in front of a computer when she “should be working”. This is how I distract my triggered self, while keeping “busy”. They are the top 5 Self Sabotage Patterns, and when I see them, time after time, they remind me to come back to doing the deep inner work.

5 Biggest Self Sabotage Techniques

1. Facebook. I’ll spend hours consuming other peoples content, especially when I’m feeling like I have something really important I could be doing in business. Or something specific I should be sharing/saying and am avoiding doing it. This can also show up as hours of re-posting OPC (other peoples content) instead of creating my own mastermind diamond marketing material.  (see below for my quick fix for this one)

2. Consuming. Eating up other peoples online courses and email marketing. I find myself considering investing in another program, or worse buying yet another program just to see what the competitors are doing, or reading/watching someone else’s marketing material. Especially since there are several of my own courses I want to design. Or maybe complete some of the OTHER courses I bought that have yet to be completed, or not implemented. Consuming also includes: Eating (organic chocolate, popcorn slathered in coconut oil, curry and cinnamon, homemade kombucha, kale chips etc. All have been used to avoid the pain of not sending email, it’s sad to say, but true.) Along with the more traditional drinking, smoking or drugging to avoid the discomfort.

3. Selective Silence. I’ll stop emailing back, stop talking, avoid calling, or otherwise just cease speaking. If it gets really bad, they might call me directly, and I might not answer.

4. Shiny Object Syndrome. Also known as “I’m about to have a breakthrough, so let’s switch projects.” Often right before a big breakthrough there is a place of contraction. During this time we are going to want to change focus, loose track, give up, never come back, die. All normal.

5. OMG Clean. I’ll organize folders, re-read old journals, clean out my recycling bin, organize my desktop, wash dishes, clean the toilets, sweep behind the fridge. Yup. Me, the queen of “I love living in tropical places because it comes with a maid” will downright start to clean if faced with too much fear of emailing. It’s a dirty form of self sabotage, but I’ll admit to it.

If you’ve been in business for any length of time, I KNOW you’ve experienced one of these kinds of Self Sabotage.

So how do we deal with it?  Well, in this moment, I'm paralyzed.  I can’t answer that email, can’t open it even. I’m either scared that people will say (usually) good things, or bad things (rarely), or in between things. But whatever I do, if I can put off finding out, or doing it, or whatever it is I am avoiding. God help me, I will put it off until the guilt has driven me mad. So I do the healthy self sabotage thing, and slide sideways, and create some content.

#1 Healthy Facebook Self Sabotage

A quick fix for consuming content on Facebook, is to make a micro commitment that if you scroll more than 4 posts, you MUST comment on the content or create something unique on the next post.  This will either push you to the edge of your comfort zone and make you say something unique, or it will get you the heck off facebook.

Either way, mission accomplished.

I’ll be diving into each of the Self Sabotage Patterns in week 4 of the JoyGasmic Mastermind, and I’ll share the journey with you along the way! Along with identifying them, there is a simple way of transmuting each of these patterns into something that can actually accelerate your business growth. It’s called Healthy Self Sabotage, and I’ll share the best of my tips on how to turn sabotage into healthy self sabotage. It turns stuckness, fear, and stress into an experience that is positively JoyGasmic.

I’ll see you next week! Much love,

Elena

The Reverse Gap

It’s 2:22. Some day in July 2015. I’m sitting lounging on green silk, propped up on pillows, in a hammok, on the 3rd floor of a cabana type house on the coast of Mexico.  I'm surrounded on 4 sides by native jungle, and on 1.5 sides there is ocean, with islands that I love to paddle around. The sounds of crickets is so present you don’t even hear it, nature is all around, the birds call out from time to time and laugh with me.

I’m on a business call, listening to a client talk about their business, how they are helping people live happier, healthier, more fulfilling lives. We’re talking about big visions, and the vastness of possibility, and also about how I can help take the minutia of business off their hands. There’s a sense of synergy in the air, and it’s palpable. I feel alive, and vibrant, and on purpose. I’ve had soul raising goosebumps at least 3 times in the conversation already, and now it’s 2:22. Joy fills my soul.

How do I know it’s 2:22? There is a beautiful chime echoing through the space of my outdoor office, it's coming from my phone and my mind knows exactly what this means. One of my favorite daily celebrations has arrived.

The client is talking about something, telling a story about their business experiences. So part of my mind wanders back to the trigger memory I created. It's about a year ago, my best friends face fills my mind, she's beautiful. I’m at her house, we’re celebrating together. Dancing like crazy fools in her living room because it’s the 1 year anniversary of “last day of bus”.

Last Day!!!

The Last Day!!! Thank God!

Along with that joyful memory, comes the year before. It’s a peak memory of sorrow. In 2013, this alarm at 2:22 meant I had to put my laptop down, let go of my precious  business space, and go drive a fucking school bus. I hated it.  There is a memory of sobbing with my head in her lap. I was so upset, my soul tortured by the monotony of useless tasks, and the abject terror of “what if I never escape this bus job. What if this is my life?”

And then I look back, and where I’m at RIGHT NOW. On the rooftop, with an awesome client call. I breathe in the perfection of it all.

Today, I’m not doing any of those things, but I’m thinking about them. Why? Because of something called the Reverse Gap. Let me tell you a little bit more about it, and how you can use it yourself.

I’m greatful for the entirety of the moment, the current moment, the celebration, the distant past, the knowledge of that the power of that shift is being projected into the future and creating powerful change for my current self. I am so happy, and I am so proud, and I am so READY to share.

The Forward Gap Visionary Entrepreneur

· You know where you are.

· You know where you want to be.

· There’s a GAP between these two things.

· Sometimes the the gap inspires you.  You know you're on a path to greatness.

Sometimes the gap makes you miserable, because you’re not there yet.

· On bad days, the HUGENESS of the gap makes you lose motivation and cry for a week.

Or... you could look at it like this.

The Reverse Gap Visionary Entrepreneur

· You know where you are.

· You know where you want to be.

· You know where you were a year ago.

· You’re able to see how much progress you’ve made (aka your bus story!)

· On good AND bad days, the gap fuels your fire, and pushes you forward into your vision.

And this is why I celebrate the cursed bus, every single day of my life. Because it was just over a two years ago that I claimed my “last day of a job job EVER” and had the best month in my business yet.  The bus showed me what my life could look like as a single mom if I didn’t put my nose to the vision board and get MOVING on my dream. It gave me the fear and the fuel to create the growth I’ve created in my life!

A modern celebration version of this is my little celebration that you're getting THIS particular peice of content, because I'm processing big stuff right now and I can't share what's going on in real time. This is a reminder for me, becuase it wasn't so long ago that I was completely unable to share book chapters or blog posts through my newsletter AT ALL, I was paralyzed by the fear of what you might think, and that I was too much in my honest expression.

The blessing of that, is that now I have a backlog of things I haven't shared, so I have the room to keep sharing the whole journey authentically, and be scared at the same time. This is the first time in the history of my writing, that I've kept writing, even when I was scared, instead of clamming up and not talking. This is a historic moment in the history of me.  A new benchmark for my reverse gap.
